Headaches Dehydration May Be the Cause

A severe, sudden headache that follows bouts of nausea and vomiting or diarrhea is often a result of the body being dehydrated from the sudden loss of fluids.

If symptoms are severe, call your doctor for an immediate appointment.

You can also drink small amounts of liquids frequently, including sports drinks. Or, try this simple, inexpensive rehydration recipe (for people over 12):
Mix one quart of water with ? teaspoon of table salt and 3 to 4 tablespoons of sugar.

Infants through 12 years: Use only a commercial rehydration drink, such as Pedialyte.
